How does membership work as a patient?
Dr. Hutchinson's practice follows a membership model often referred to as concierge medicine or direct primary care.
At Polaris Primary Care patients come first. Dr. Hutchinson limits his practice to fewer than 250 patients so that he can offer unhurried visits, direct communication via phone and the personalized attention in all aspects of care. Traditional insurance based primary care does not make this possible so Dr. Hutchinson does not bill insurance for his services.
Instead, patients pay a flat rate, annual fee for access to all of the care offered at the practice. This keeps the relationship between you and Dr. Hutchinson without any middle men or insurance limitations. There are never any registration fees, visit fees or hidden fees.
Your existing insurance still plays its usual role for everything outside the office: any medications, lab work or imaging performed elsewhere, and visits to specialists are billed through your insurance as they normally would be.

While medical text books are straightforward, real disease is full of nuance and complexity. The longer you and Dr. Hutchinson work together, the better Dr. Hutchinson will be able to understand the subtleties of your health.

Comprehensive 90 minute annual physical
A great annual physical should include a thorough physical exam and a review of all aspects of your medical care. With Dr. Hutchinson you can expect a literal head to toe exam including a full body skin check, joint range of motion and strength testing. Together you will review any chronic medical conditions, detail measures of your sleep, exercise and nutrition and ensure you are up to date with health care maintenance. Annual blood work is free!
Extended, unhurried visits
Follow up visits are scheduled on your time. They can be over the phone, on video or in person and can be up to 60 minutes! This is enough time to examine lab results line by line, answer all of your questions, and make a thorough plan together. Individualized summaries and plans are sent to you by Dr. Hutchinson after your visits.
Extended panel annual blood work
Free with the cost of your membership, is a comprehensive lab evaluation of multiple biomarkers for a myriad of health issues. Dr. Hutchinson will tailor each of your annual labs based on you and those problems most likely to affect your health.
